THE FINANCIAL Services Consumer Panel, an independent watchdog,says the banking industry is still not doing enough for the poor, whowill be paid state benefits through banks in a year. Mystery shoppersfor the FSCP were not offered a basic bank account, credit was toofreely available, one in five was rejected because of county courtjudgments or identification demands.
