Vic: Rescuers locate men stranded in high country

MELBOURNE, Aug 9 AAP - A rescue party has located three men stranded since last night
in Victoria's high country in the state's north-east.

A police spokesman said the search-and-rescue squad located the three about 4.15am
(AEST) and all three appeared to be suffering hypothermia.

He said the men, aged 32, 29 and 25, set out on a cross-country, snow-shoe hike yesterday.

Shortly before 6.30pm one of the party contacted the Rural Ambulance Service by mobile
phone and advised they were in trouble, with one of them suffering hypothermia.

The men gave their location as being on the top of Mt Bogong.

Rescuers left at 10.30pm last night.

All three are receiving medical treatment.
